It feels like a little piece of luxury in the heart of Africa (if that’s a thing). So let’s explore the 12 Amazing Things To Do in Victoria Falls: Top Attractions in 2025.

What makes the Victoria Falls so unique?

Victoria Falls is one of the tallest and most famous waterfalls in the world.

In 1855, Explorer David Livingstone, became the first known European to view the falls. He named the waterfall after Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, as a sign of patronage towards the British monarchy.

Today, Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, with a width of about 1,708 meters and a height of 108 meters. The falls are roughly twice the height of Niagara Falls and are wider than the famous Iguazu Falls.

What do the locals call Victoria Falls?

The indigenous Batoka people, call it “Mosi-oa-Tunya,” which means “The Smoke That Thunders,” referring to the mist and the roaring sound produced by the water as it plunges over the falls.
